Have heard that crime cameras are most effective only if monitored live. But live monitoring is darn expensive. Citizens already sit at their desks and do lots of crazy stuff while “working” – so why not have volunteers monitor crime cameras? Lots of logistical details, but the more I think about the concept, the more I like it. We already have volunteer cops.
