So yesterday someone on Twitter mentioned giving $1 to a favorite application.
There are a horde of applications for Twitter, but none quite as useful as TweetDeck, which handily organizes content from the site into manageable bites and allows hyper folks like me to tweet like crazy. So I went and tried to donate $1 to TweetDeck, only to find the donate button not working. I had planned to make the donation and then blog about it and encourage others to donate as well.
I asked TweetDeck what happened and got the following reponse: “tweetdeck: @adrielhampton I removed the donate button – thought it was inappropriate since funding has been raised :-)”
Still trying to decide what I think about that. How about you?

I love TweetDeck and would have been happy to donate – even I can afford $1 for such a labour saving application.
I feel even more inclined to do so given your revelation that the TweetDeck peeps have stopped asking for donations since they reached their funding target.
Perhaps it’s just me, but that kind of integrity isn’t as prevalent online as it could be; I feel the need to recognise it!
Thanks for putting this info out there, Adriel.
Quite intriguing!
I cannot indeed donate. Not that I have much to do so but never the less it is a flaw which needs addressing!
Also, is there a way to see and manage Followers and following in TD?
@Buffy You can use groups to sort, but not sure about your specific question. Still need to read the TweetDeck guide myself!
Well that solves the dilemma I was having – using TweetDeck to communicate with our constituents but not having a clear way to pay for it with tax $.
