One of my very favorite people on Twitter is PR whiz Danny Brown. Danny is an instinctual people person and has put together one of the coolest examples of cause marketing I’ve seen, 12for12k.
This cause marketing is not about one company or one person, it’s about a community committed to making a difference through social media efforts and micro-donations. We’re helping hungry and abused children, $10 at a time. To quote the site:
In 2009, we aim to change the lives of millions with a simple challenge:
- 12 months
- 12 charities
- 1200 people
- $10 per person
- $12,000 per charity
What price another human being’s life? Make the choice. Make the difference.
